Q: What are the requirements to apply for employment in USA?
A: You should possess the following:

  • B.Sc. degree or diploma from a recognized nursing school/ college
  • Registration with the State Nursing Council in which you are currently working.

When you apply us, you should also provide copies of:

  • Detailed CV with complete job description.
  • List of equipment formaliarity.
  • Copies of Nursing & Education mark sheets of BSc. Nurshing or General Diploma.
  • Nursing Transcripts and Nursing Council Registration Copy.
  • Experience Certificates, Educational Certificates, Mark sheets of 10th & 12th Standard.
  • School & College Leaving Certificate.
  • Marriage Certificate (If applicable).
  • 2 reference letters from your senior/in-charge/superwisor/matron.
  • 4 passport size colour photography and passport copy.

Q: Do I need to clear CGFNS/ NCLEX_RN / TOEFL/ TWE/ TSE before going to USA?

A:

  • It was mandatory earlier to clear all exams such as CGFNS/ NCLEX_RN / TOEFL/ TWE/ TSE, but with the growing demand of Indian Nurses in U.S.A. nine states (New York, Florida, California, Arkansas, Alaska, Missicippi, North Carolina, Nevada and New Maxico) do not insistis on CGFNS. However to be Registered Nurse (RN) in U.S.A. NCLEX is a must to be passed to work as RN in U.S.A.
  • NCLEX- RN examination must be taken in the United States and passed to allow you to work legally as a nurse in America.
  • Written and spoken English skills are mandatory. You have to pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOFEL), which includes the Test of Written English (TWE) or IELTS (Academic).


Q: How much experience do I require?

A: A minimum of ONE year of clinical experience is required when you want to apply for U.S.A. employment.

Q: Whether it is necessary for me to be working in India when I apply for the vacancy?
A: There should not be a gap of more than 6 months since your last employment when you apply for vacancy. The experience must be in a Clinical environment.

Q: What is the usual time for completing the placement formalities?
A: It may take from 6 months to 18 months depending upon the completion of documents from either side.

Q: If I get selected, on which visa will I be traveling to USA?
A: Once you are selected, you will travel on the EB-3 (Employment Based) Visa, sometimes referred to as a Green Card. This Visa gives you the right to work and makes you a permanent resident of the United States and eligible for United States Citizenship after a waiting period.

Q: Can my family accompany me to USA?
A: Present Employers recommend that you go over to the States and settle down for a period of 6 months to a year before taking your dependents.

Q: What are the requirements to apply for U.K. placement?
A: You should possess the following:· A B.Sc. degree or diploma from a recognised nursing school/ college · A Registration with the State Nursing Council in which you are currently working· A NMC (earlier known as UKCC) decision letter. We can assist you with your application to NMC. · A passing score of 6.5 at the IELTS. (International English language testing service). When you apply to us, you should also provide copies of: · Certificates proving your qualification· Testimonials regarding your experience· Birth Certificate / Certificate mentioning the birth date· Marriage certificate, if any· Divorce or Death Certificate of spouse, if any,· Valid Passport· Photographs· Recent job letter · Police clearance certificate · Copy of NMC (UKCC) decision letter · Copy of IELTS score

Q: How much experience do I require?
A: Minimum of 18 months post registration nursing experience is required. You must have had relevant clinical practice in an acute hospital setting within the last 18 months.

Q: Do I need to clear IELTS before going to U.K.?
A: Yes as of 1st August, 2002 NMC require a minimum score of 5.5 in each module with an average score of not less than 6.5 at the IELTS. Even though this requirement is for Candidates applying after 1st August 2002 Clients are insisting for IELTS Scores. It is advisable to take the IELTS, immediately in case you have not already done so.

Q: Whether it is necessary for me to be working in India when I apply for the vacancy?
A: Yes, you should have a minimum of 18 months post registration nursing experience and presently working in the relevant field.

Q: What is the usual time for completing the placement formalities?
A: In case you have the IELTS score required and a NMC decision letter it may take from 3 to 9 months, otherwise 6 to 18 months.

Q: Do I have to pay for all the expenses incurred for traveling to U.K.?
A: Depends from clients to clients but wherever possible we try and get our clients to sponsor. However, there are certain charges such as visa processing, legalisation of documents, health checkups etc. which are to be borne by the individual candidates.

Q: If I get selected, on which visa will I be traveling to U.K.?
A: If you are selected you travel travel on a work visa issued by the British Deputy High Commission and the cost is approximately Rs.4000 to Rs.5000/-.

Q: Do I have to pay you?

A: Wherever possible we try to get all your exam fees reimbursed from clients after being employed in U.S. All other expenses for coaching and training for exams to be held in India & U.S. are minimised by us not exceeding Rs. 25000/- till you finally depart to U.S. However Visa charges by Consulates/Embassies and legalisation of documents with Govt. agencies are to borne by you.

Q: How do I post a resume?
A: You can mail your resume via our send your application section or send in your resume (for NURSES, for GENERAL) on our postal address. You are welcome personally and can hand it over to us.

Q: Is it necessary for me to be working in India when I apply for the vacancy?
A: There should not be a gap of more than 6 months in your current employment history. You should have a background in clinical experience when applying for the placement.

Q: As a foreign-educated nurse, how can CGFNS help me to practice in the United States?
A: CGFNS offers a Certification Program and Qualifying Exam, which most U.S. State Boards of Nursing require in order to be eligible to apply for licensure within that state.

Q:What is the CGFNS Certification Program?
A: The CGFNS Certification Program is a three-part program designed to predict an applicant’s likelihood of passing the NCLEX-RN® examination and becoming licensed as a registered nurse in the United States.

Q:Which states require the CGFNS Qualifying Exam?
A: The CGFNS Qualifying Exam is required by more than 85% of U.S. State Boards of Nursing and predicts success on the NCLEX-RNâ examination. You will need to check requirements with the state board of nursing of the state in which you intend to practice.

Q:Who is eligible to take the CGFNS Qualifying Exam?
A: The CGFNS Qualifying Exam is open to (Registered) nurses ONLY.

Q:It’s very difficult for me to obtain documents from my country. Is it possible for me to send a copy of my transcripts or licenses to your office?
A: No. CGFNS needs to have the applicant’s school(s) and/or licensing authority(ies) send the information directly in order to verify accuracy.

Q:Who pays for the program?
A: The applicant typically pays for the Certification Program. The application fee can be paid by an international money order or certified bank check in U.S. dollars, drawn on a U.S. bank and made payable to "CGFNS," or by one of the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard or Discover/Novus.

Q:What do I do if I need to change my exam date or location after I have been scheduled for the exam?
A: If you need to change the exam date or location you must submit a change request form or submit your request in writing to CGFNS. Change request forms are accepted via mail, fax or email. Changes must be received by CGFNS no later than 10 weeks prior to the exam date. Any requests received with less than 10 weeks until the exam cannot be honored.

Q:What do I do if my educational institution has closed?
A: CGFNS only accepts certain documentation (such as transcripts and validations of registration/ license) from source agencies. If your school has closed or no longer operates, you will need to contact the organization or agency authorized to hold documentation for that institution (such as a ministry of health or the national, provincial or state licensing authority in your country of education). If you are uncertain about where to go, call the CGFNS Customer Service Department.

Q:What if my documents are not in English?
A: A certified word-for-word English translation, signed with a certification of authenticity by the translator, must accompany any credentials not in English.

Q:How long will it take to receive my CGFNS Qualifying Exam results?
A: Approximately eight to ten weeks after taking the CGFNS Qualifying Exam, CGFNS will send you a letter telling you whether you passed or failed the exam. Due to confidentiality, the letter is sent directly to you. No one but you receives your results. Mail delivery varies from country to country, so please allow up to four additional weeks for international deliveries.

Q:How long will it take to receive my NCLEX-RN Qualifying Exam results?
A: Approximately eight to ten weeks after taking the NCLEX Exam.

Q:If I failed the exam, what is my next step?
A: CGFNS will provide your numerical score and the passing score for the exam in the results letter. Also included is your diagnostic profile, which will indicate your strengths and weaknesses in the client needs categories. These categories form the basis not only of the CGFNS Qualifying Exam, but also of the NCLEX-RN® examination. The CGFNS Qualifying Exam is offered three times a year. You may re-apply for another test date.

Q:When I pass the exam, do I receive my certificate?
A: No. When you pass both the CGFNS Qualifying Exam and TOEFL, you will receive your CGFNS Certificate.

Q:I took the TOEFL exam three years ago. Are my scores still applicable?
A: No. TOEFL scores are only valid for two years. Also, the CGFNS Qualifying Exam and TOEFL examination must be taken within two years of each other for both scores to be valid.

Q:Do I need to have validations for all licenses I have held to complete my Certification Program application?
A: YES

Q:Can I provide a photocopy of my license instead of a validation?
A: No. CGFNS requires that official validations must be completed and sent directly from the issuing authorities.

Q:How many times can I take the CGFNS / NCLEX Qualifying Exam?
A: You can take the exam however many times you wish, until you achieve a passing score. However, in order to complete the Certification Program, applicants must pass both the CGFNS Qualifying Exam and an English language proficiency exam within two years of each other.
