India after independence has adequate facilities in 13000 hospitals,
spread all over India but looking to the country's population their
distribution is skewed. Moreover 90 percent of all hospitals are
privately owned which growth indicates that business of healthcare
industry is close to 100 million today with increasing growth rate
of 15% annually. More hospitals means more staff, qualified and
ability to work with internationally acclaimed Doctors, Surgeons,
Cardiology & Cancer hospitals, Clinics etc.
Total no. of Nursing Education Institutions in India are nearing
1000 mark offering Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (3
Years Course) and B.Sc. (5 Years Course) spread out all over India
with concentration in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Madras,
Maharashtra & other states.
Hence every year we have thousands of nurses completing their studies,
training in private & public sector hospitals, gaining continuous
experience in all conditions of working and willing to take challenges
in life by offering their services to overseas employers.
While there are 3,115 Hospitals in Maharashtra and 2,040 in Kerala,
Himachal Pradesh has only 57 Hospitals and Haryana, 78. The difference
is primarily due to the difference in the extent of private sector
participation in the health sector. In states like Andhra Pradesh,
Maharashtra, Gujarat and Kerala, some 90 per cent of all hospitals
are owned privately, at least as far as the business of health is
concerned. The past decade was marked by an explosion of private
healthcare facilities in Indian cities.
Mostly all G.C.C. countries have taken advantage and opportunities
by staffing nurses from India due to their honesty, hard working
for long hours, humbleness politeness and above all caring nature
for patients. India is proud to be recognized in the Healthcare
sector due to the services of these nurses who have been contributing
billions in foreign exchange to their motherland.
